    Mind Body Medicine at Portland State University [MBMPSU] provides practical opportunities for integrating mind body medicine into your life, career, and the world. We do this by developing events and publications for you to connect with others and learn about the science of Mind Body Medicine.
  • A Definition of Mind Body Medicine:

    Mind Body Medicine (MBM) focuses on the interactions among the brain, mind, body, and behavior, and on the powerful ways in which emotional, mental, social, and behavioral factors directly affect health. (National Institute of Health)
  • Ways to participate in MBMPSU:

    • Attend Lectures/ events
    • Be on a committee (marketing, visiting lecturer, newsletter)
    • Write in newsletter
    • Be an executive officer
    (many opportunities!)

Jolene has a degree in Community Health Education  and she is working towards a M.S. in Education,  in the leadership in ecology, culture, and learning (LECL) program. She works at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM), is a holistic fitness consultant/ writer and teaches yoga at several locations around town. Jolene believes in whole foods, unconventional workouts, yoga, meditation, and in the healing power of nature! Oh ya, and that we are all made from stardust.

Sarah {Coordinator}

Sarah is a Health Science major at Portland State. After graduating at the end of this year, she plans to go on to study and practice Chinese medicine. She hopes to focus her career on women’s reproductive health and become an integral part in pregnancy, birthing, and post-pregnancy health among her patients. She enjoys art, music, and reading, and would never pass up a plate of sushi.

Cassandra {Newsletter Editor}

Cassandra is a Science and Pre-naturopathic medicine student at PSU and currently holds a degree in Nursing and Business Administration. She plans to pursue Naturopathic medical school after graduating from Portland State. Cassandra plans to ultimately practice as a Naturopathic physician in her own clinic which will incorporate acupuncture, yoga and meditation classes, cooking and nutrition classes and midwifery.  Cassandra strongly believes in the power of the mind, importance of good nutrition, the bodies natural ability to heal itself and that we all have the ability to feel good. Cassandra also enjoys photography, yoga, many forms of art expression, music, gardening, cooking, and hiking (especially the Columbia Gorge).
